One of the most impressive debuts has been the Jaguar F-Type. As I've noted repeatedly, the leaping cat — and its sister company, Land Rover — have been just blowing everyone away with its latest product launches.

It must get tiring to be so good.

Though we haven't even had the chance to get a crack at the new F-Type Coupe, there's all-new word coming from a very well placed source that Jag could consider building an F-Type Targa. The well placed source? None other than Ian Callum. The man behind the company's legendary designs.

Of course at this stage it could build it but the question looms: "would they come?" And it's a proper question to ask considering that Porsche's 911 Targa isn't exactly known for knocking sales out of the park. It's a niche product built for those who lust after the original Targa from the 1960s.

Considering Jaguar has made a business case for cars like the XKRS and XKRS-GT, I wouldn't be surprised if the company decided to do a PROPER targa top, unlike Porsche, and build 100 or so units.

Time will tell on this one though.
