The all-new Acura NSX has taken the world by storm. Though there's a slew of all-new supercars that are out and about, the NSX seems to have caught on with a vast majority of enthusiasts. 

Perhaps its because it boasts that iconic Acura nameplate, NSX?

While the all-new Acura supercar is far removed from the original, it turns out that the "A" may have something else in the works. Perhaps more than one, actually.

According to the NSX's Chief Engineer, Jason Bilotta,said that the all-new NSX's chassis was designed specifically to scale. While it's not made clear exactly what would be in store, we're thinking that market demands would warrant two options: 

1) A more hardcore, track-going variant — e.g., NSX Type R

2) A more emotional experience that prioritizes having the wind in your hair over all else — e.g., an NSX Roadster. 

That said, we're a wee bit curious what would pique your interest more: An NSX Type R that serves as a 911 GT3 competitor, or a Roadster variant.


...“You know, I have designed this platform to be able to accommodate different variants on it and use it as a [scalable] platform,” Bilotta told CarAdvice.

“So, while we can’t speculate about what will happen in the future, there is the ability to make some variants or derivatives, so hopefully – depending on the market response – we will be able to provide that..."
