As fuel prices continue to surge, almost three-fourths of consumers in the market for a new vehicle have been impacted by the rising costs.

Purchase time and the vehicles they are considering have been the most affected, according to the most recent Marketing Research study from Kelley Blue Book's Kbb.com.

More specifically, 42 percent of the survey's respondents claimed they are taking themselves out of the market and postponing their next vehicle purchase.

Thirty percent, meanwhile, indicated they have changed their vehicle preferences due to gas prices or have been led to look at vehicles they wouldn't have otherwise considered.
