Recall Friday: Ford Recalls 1.2 Million Super Duty Trucks
Ford Motor Co is recalling nearly 1.2 million vehicles, including certain F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks. The recall was made because a faulty sensor could cause the vehicles' engines to stall.

The recall covers Ford F-450 and F-550 trucks with 7.3-liter diesel engines, Excursion sport-utility vehicles and E-Series vans from model years 1997 through 2003, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Ford produces the Ford F-450 and F-550 at its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville and produced the Excursion at the plant before the vehicle was discontinued in September 2005.

According to the NHTSA, dealers will replace faulty sensors free of charge beginning Dec. 17. Owners can contact Ford at (866) 436-7332. The recall number is 07S57.

I am really suprise that Ford is recalling 1,200,000 of their vechicle. I thought Ford had better realibility than Toyota, or least that what some you up here said.

Ford better than Toyota? yeah right...keep on dreaming.. The number of Toyota being recall is small compare the number of vechicle that sales.

Ford was rated to have better quality than Toyota on their 2007 lineup. The recalled cars are from 97-03. Toyota has recently been recalling their brand new trucks.

I know right?

Faulty sensors are much worse then camshafts snapping in several places at random times...

When I was in high school I was ahead of my mechanics class because my Ford would break down just before we would start to study an area of the vehicle! LOL OMG whose camshafts would snap? Would someone make a good truck please!
