Recall Issued for 2009 Jaguar XF
A recall has been issued on Jaguar's new cat the 2009 Jaguar XF.

What exactly is the recall for?

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration there is a problem with the rear seat belts on the new Jaguar XF. More specifically the rear safety belt D-ring assembly may not rotate properly around the safety belt anchorage mounting bolt." This means that passengers may or not be at risk during an accident because the occupants may or may not be properly restrained.

Even with this recall the car's a beauty and the quality is up a notch from the previous years of Jaguar. All manufacturers make a mistake from time to time. At least it's not a recall on the power plant. That would tick off the customers for sure.

Where's MichaelTaylor who usually comes into threads like this and would say something like "Jaguar is crap. Lexus is number one in the world in quality and reliability. The XF is nothing compared to the ultra-luxury brand of Lexus which is also compared to Bently, Maybach, & Rolls Royce."

ehhh, boring car.

They could have done better. I see about 1/month on the road and that is in Cali.

It's not the most exciting car in the world but they do have the XF-R coming out so that will pack more punch. It's purpose isn't to excite but instead to calm. It is after all a luxury barge.

I agree. As much as I wanted to love this car, it's disappointing. It's "nice", for sure, but it's not what it should be or could have been. It's handsome, yes, and I'm glad it's not retro, but it's also generic. That photo at the top of this thread is about as good as it gets.

It's the best looking luxury motor period, the XF-R will be the mother of all luxury sedans when it's released in a few months.

XF is a quality motor and this minor issue does not change that fact.

I test drove the surpercharged XF, yes its fast and beautiful from the outside, but it just isn't as good as the competitors. The interior feels cheap, the car feels like a boat and the "wow" factor wore off after the first 5 minutes.

I still love the exterior though!

My brother bought the supercharged version and loves it; the car is beautiful and packed with the latest gatgets. The only complaint he has is that the seats are not as comfortable as the seats in my 550i w/sports package. It's an impresssive car for the price. All manufactures face recalls with a totally new model, this one is no big deal.
