Bmw AG and Saab announced today that they have agreed on a deal that will allow the Swedish manufacturer to use engines made by Bmw. Apparently, Saab will initially buy engine from Bmw in order to power its nex-generation 9-3 model that will be introduced in late 2012.

Furthermore, Saab is also in talks with Bmw in order to buy diesel engines as well as using the MINI Countryman platform for its upcoming 9-2 model.

An official announcement about this partnership will be made official on Wednesday, when Saab will hold a press conference in Sweden at 11:15 CET.
