n an effort to meet an increase in demand, Ford Motor Co. plans to ramp up production of its full-sized SUVs, Ford Americas President Mark Fields said in an interview conducted last Monday at the Detroit Auto Show.

Sales of the Ford Expedition rose 45% in December, while sales of its Lincoln Navigator sibling increased by 60%. Last year, Ford had halted SUV production to move assembly equipment to a different plant. A 60-day supply is what’s regarded as normal but lately, supplies have dwindled.
