The heavens opened and in a great cacophony of lighting and raging wind the clouds swallowed and smote the wicked. And there was peace once again in the Republic.

Ah what't the point of life if you can't make it a little interesting.
I have to admit that it is slighly sick how happy this announcement made me- I immediatly put on Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. The first momevement is dramatic.

Probably not a bad idea. I never loved this car, eventhough I've always thought if it hadn't been derived from a Ford, and had a Jaguar-specific platform, it could have worked.

It's much nicer looking than the S-Type and XJ8 at least...

About time. Ford must think people are a bunch of fools. Adding a rear-axle and a jaguar badge to a ford mondeo doesn't turn it into a premium car.

well the mondeo is a premium car, just not a luxury car, and certainly nota jaguar....im surprised i would have thought jaguar would have gave it a second try on a better platform, with new engines, for years its been the biggest seller, just below sales targets so there are obviously people that want a small jaguar just not many....the g35 turned infiniti around, a properly done x type could have done the same for jag

Could have, should have, would have.
But now Jag is focusing on high-end products. The new XJ will supposedly blow us away- and I'm very excited for it.
I am still, however, lingering on the current model's unmistakably beautiful design. I can't get over how every time I see one, I still have to stare. Wow. The XK has shown me that they can incorporate classic Jaguar lines with modern styles- but the XF hasn't. And I hope the new XJ is more like the XK than the XF.

The XF does look like the XK. The roofline and entire rear design for example. Check for some real life photos of the car online. There are some really good ones.

I know exactly what the XF and XK look like. I said they look different, not the same, and that I want future Jags to look like the XK rather than the XF.

The X-Type wasn't as bad as everyone said, but Jag should def be a classy brand that not everyone can own. Ford was too focused on exploiting it for profits, but there was a reason they were successful for so long w/ only 2-3 model lines. That will keep the quality and refinement up too.

Yeah it was bad, I'm glad they got rid of it, see you later.
