Boost it!

The Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept (pictured above) was supposedly a preview of the design direction Honda was taking for the next generation Acura NSX.

But it was reported in February of this year that Honda engineers ripped the whole script and went back to the drawing board since Honda executives weren’t all that pleased with the design.

Well now development is underway and Honda is not only looking to pack the V10 engine with more power and torque, but is looking to improve fuel economy over the NSX predecessors. WindingRoad is reporting that the next generation Acura NSX, with a 5.0 liter V10 engine producing 500 hp, will achieve at least 10.0 km/l (23.5 mpg) as compared to the last NSX Type R that achieved 8.6 km/l which only had a 3.2 liter V6 engine.

There’s a reason Honda is the most fuel-efficient auto maker in the world and if anyone can get 23.5 mpg from a 5.0 liter V10, its Honda.
