Exactly. This interior has a balanced upscale feel of Mercedes, unlike the pretended chrome crazed AUDI or tastlessly cheap BMW thanks to Mr. Bangle. It's a right blend of form, function, and decoration, just as my E46 3.

NISSAN finally started to realize INFINITI is a different brand. Not only it should have excellent sporty line, it should also carry some luxury oriented products. It not only needs to compete w/ BMW, but also LEXUS.

Okay, you can sing the Infiniti's praises, but don't embarrass yourself by insulting Audi in the process. Their interiors are the ones that set the bar. Without them, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, BMW and Lexus wouldn't be working nearly as hard to improve theirs.

I would agree with the Audi Comment. Audi had the best interiors in the 80s. I would even call them the benchmark or bar with which other manf. had to acheive. That said, I am still a Diehard Nissan fan! Heck, I own 1 Datsun, 1 Nissan and 1 Infiniti currently. Not many people can say that.

Please, enlighten me, bulldogz. With your never-ending Audi-hating nonsense, I take your opinion with a grain of salt. Let's review the interiors of the cars in the A4's class:

IS: plastic, plastic, plastic. It looks good, but then you have to touch it.

3 Series: it's ugly. Although it does have some high-quality materials, unlike a few others. But that doesn't make up for the design.

C-Class: the new one or the old one, they're both about average. Average design, average construction. Nothing special.

G: like the C-Class, very average. Nothing unique about this interior design; smacks of the A4.

A4: top-notch construction, timeless design. Read any review, bulldogz, because your single opinion seems to stand out from the rest- they all praise the A4's interior in every review.

dlin has obviously not seen the ultra-stunning interior of Audi's 500 h.p. Q7 V12 TDI. The new Infinity seems to have adapted some oriental styling themes to the Q7 V12 TDI's styling right down to an elegant white interior.

Since you mentioned it, I checked it out and found out it's a concept car. Well, I can only say a lot of concept cars has nicer interior.

You see, I'm an architect, and taste-wise I'm more Modernism than Baroque. I understand AUDI's been working very hard on the interior, and probably exterior too(or is it? A5 is absolutely horrible to me). The thing is AUDI's getting overdosed w/ all the chrome, which just totally reminds me of the bling-bling American SUV that just passed by.

As for using plastic at the interior.... C'mon! Tell me how much percentage of any car's dashboard is not plastic. If only the real metal matters, then you might as well throw your iPod, LCD screen, TV, and cell phone away, right?

What they do, lay out a bunch of nuts and let a squirrel run around picking them up and watching the way the squirrel ran and carfully tracing the lines and adapting them to this new Datsun?

Datsun should call it the squirrel nut zipper..

Datsun never had styling like that and squirrels take their gathered nuts and hide them all over the place where they can't find them later. The Infinity brand promises something totally different from what the Datsun brand promised decades ago.

I saw one, in slight camouflage on the 60 here outside of Phoenix. That thing is absolutely stunning. it was in white and looked exactly like the photo on this post. Acura should be absolutely ashamed of how they "styled" the RDX after seeing this Infiniti beaut.

The RDX might not be preety to some to look at but atleast it doesn't look like a wagon like this junk, further more you know this is a chicks car because no six footer will fit in it due to the low roofline. Gurantee you also the interior layout will not be better than the RDX because Infinit's interiors are inferior to that of Acura's point blank.

This car definitely looks production-ready, and very good, at that. But I must ask- how will they really differentiate it from the FX? Neither of them are hugely practical, both leaning more towards style and performance. Both seat five. Both are over $30K (or at least I think this will be), but their base prices are under $40K. I just have to wonder... will they dump the FX35 to accommodate this model, and just keep the 45?

But to be honest, I don't really see what's so amazing about the inside. It looks like the G's interior, but with some conceptual detailing. It doesn't look bad- it's probably nicer than the LR2 and X3. But that's not saying much...

The styling is OK, but way too feminine to get much further than the Lexus RX Wives Club car set.

But that could be exactly their market. I have alot of respect for Ghosn, he knows what he is doing.

Take the time to understand sarcasm.

Maybe also take the time to remember you ain't Mr Know-it-all, in fact you consistently have some of the most ridiculous, ignorant and biased comments on Autospies.

Not true, Datsun was used in the 30's -I think 50's in Japan. That is what they put on all their trucks. Then again it was used in the 90's. But in the 90's they called thier Pickup "Datsun"

Meh. Exterior is kind of disappointing if that is indeed the production version. Looks like a tall G37 with a Hyundai rear. Looks like I'll be waiting for the new FX.

I like it looks better than nearly every crossover except it's sibling FX.

Most of the Infiniti concept models that have made it have looked very similar to the production models. I never really liked white cars..but this one really looks good in white..hope this color makes it into production. But other than that the interior dash probably won't have leather, the steering wheel will be the same as the current G, the rear bumper and front bumper will probably change a bit, headlights will have the amber reflectors, and the seats will probably be more like the G.

1. 98% of people at this event don't even know or CARE what an Infiniti is. They proabaly think speakers.
2. Why would u debut an entry level SUV to maybe the most prestigious car event in the USA?
