NO. There is nothing wrong with the Avalon other than the fact that it is a FWD car. The Avalon needs to replace the Camry to get more rear leg room and this new vehicle needs to be significantly larger than the Avalon and offer RWD with a DOHC V8.

It looks the size of a Corolla so how can it replace the Avalon?

It does look great, but most amazingly, the design fits in with Toyota's current design language.

Well don't hold your breath, if you live in the US, you will not see this car. It is Europe's version of our Camry, just in a smaller package (kind of like how Europe gets a different Honda Accord)

Am I the only one who sees MITSUBISHI LANCER written all over this design? It looks like Toyota simply took the body shell of a current Lancer and added their touches to it. Honestly, I see MITSUBISHI written all over this design and not Toyota.

I see the Lancer in this too, you are not the only one. I see a little Mazda 6 too (not the new 2009 model)

No, it looks more like the new Volvo S80. Euro design language here.

Hey, I have to admit, it does not look so good in the photo. Perhaps it will seen in person.

I think the Avalon is the closest Toyota in quality and styling to Lexus. I can't justify paying the premium on an ES when you can have the Avalon. I guess it's image of owning a more prestigious Japanese car.

The Avensis competes with the Mondeo/Passat/Insignia and other mid size saloons/estates/hatchbacks. Smaller than a Camry (which is not offered in much of Europe) but the next size up from a Corolla.

Looks sharp from the rear 3/4 view. Like others have said, it's right in the middle between US Corolla and US Camry in size.

So this is a European only car that in size fits in between the American Corolla and Camry. Something tells me it gets good mileage.

Maybe Toyota should build this in that idle plant in San Antonio. I think there would be room for this car in our market.
