SEMA Preview: Toyota to Unveil 2009 Corolla, HD Tundra and FJ Cruiser Convertible
The 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas is not for another three and a half months, but Toyota is getting its ducks in a row preparing for what promises to be a big week in Sin City for the Japanese automaker. It's unveiling not one, not two, but three vehicles at SEMA, including the all-new 2009 Corolla. The current Corolla has been around the block a few more times than Toyota had planned, but still remains a popular vehicle for the company. The new model will include the familiar sedan body type, but also mark the return of a coupe/hatchback. We'll no doubt see a TRD version customized to the nines at SEMA, as well. If the fates are on our side, perhaps they'll show something rear-wheel drive (fingers crossed).

Bimmermike, this new FJ is a great suv but no where close to the off road potential the original FJ had! Yes it was a great! Take it from an off road nut like me it doesn't come close! It is just a 4-runner drive train with different sheet metal. The creature comforts are obiously way better on the new fj and the engine and tranny are way better too on the new one.

I love the FJ except that it is just a little too high to clear the garage door at my condo in the East. The roof rack is a bit exagerated. My wife hates the whole look. I wish Toyota would keep the overall height to about 70 inches including a more conventional roof rack. The roof rack should always be a stand-alone option in any event. The spare tire should be in a proper wheel well inside the vehicle. My wife and I both drive vehicles with automatic transmission only but Toyota provides a different AWD system for FJ Cruisers with automatic transmission than the AWD system on the FJ with manual transmission. I believe the AWD 4Runner comes with a Torsen differential and therefore Toyota should offer the same AWD system on all FJ Cruisers.
