SOUND OFF: The Truth Shall Set You Free
Everyone has deeply buried secrets they hope no one ever exhumes. You know exactly what I'm talking about– the gang banger who listens to REM when his posse's out of earshot, the televangelist who retains the services of hookers after darkness falls, or the occasional FBI director who enjoys nylons and high heels.

Gearheads have their clandestine thoughts too. Your friends consider you an expert on all things automotive so you'd never want them to know your true desires. Your dark side is there just begging to see the light of day. Now is your chance to come clean and cleanse your karma.

We want to know: What cars are you embarrassed to admit you like and secretly covet?

I....ate....glue.....

okay seriously, I absolutely hate those ever so popular C230 Komp sedans. They are everywhere and I really don't like being a follower..........but.......damn I want one. :) They really have one of the best sporty designs in the auto world today.

Hundai Tiburon

The Lincoln represents absolute brute force for me, indestructible. Love it.

The Tiburon has some Ferrari 356 in it. I find it attractive...

Cartrash - no lie, but I used to drive a green Coupe GT ('85 I think) and absolutely loved it. To this day there is not a single car that gave me such a wonderful driving experiance.

Ahhh, thanks for the memories!

I have to say: the most boring sedan in the market today: The Camry. And also the Civic. These would be my first two cars.

I guess my skeleton in the closet would be my appreciation of Studebakers and Avantis.

Not really into the bullet noses, I like the Starlight Coupe - like Johnny Depp drove in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico"

I am too young for such cars!

My very first car I bought was the slo-mo 1991 Mercedes Benz 190 E 2.6.. Drove it until it reached 180K miles, and was still running fine.. Adequate space for 4 people, comfort rides, well-equipped, and I didn’t have to reach my pocket deep for gas money.. Don't know why, but I still love the car..

While I've had too many cars to count here, two odd balls still occupy a warm spot in my car heart. A Renault LeCar, bought new in Chicago, was a great city car. It suffered from a vacuum leaks every now and then, but in my mind was a precurser to today's Mini. The other also was a Renault, a 1983 Turbo Fuego. With a 1.6 liter turbo, it really would scoot. Once I sat on the rear end of a 911 heading into NJ from PA. Granted, I had the windows up and the A/C off but it held at 110-115 for 10 miles much to the chagrin of the 911.

Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG convertible. Sexy as hell. Way too expensive to buy. "Old tech" engine. Defects and reliability issues that are on par with a Ford. Astronomical maintenance and repair bills. But did I mention it looks great?

Mark: re "I'm waiting for the first hardcore BMWer to come out and say they like Audi! HA!"

I have 4 BMWs in my garage (all Bangle-free). And I like Audi. They drive well. Their interiors are designed well and look almost perfect (I only dislike the gray plastic parts). I bemoan their exterior styling for blandness and lack of presence.

My dream car would look like a Mercedes CLK convertible, drive like a BMW M3, and have the reliability of a Lexus. But given the real world choices of what's out there, right now, the Audi would likely get my purchase dollars.

Hmm. Maybe this disqualifies me because I'm not embarrassed to admit this :-/
