SPIED: 2010 Lexus RX in the buff!
I happened to be driving around Nurburgring when I saw this. My wife took the picture on her old school cell phone when we were driving across the intersection.

Any more photos?

Describe it to us...looks like a Lexus version of the Highlander from this pic.

heres some more info
- this photo was taken early in the morning ~6am
- the car appeared to be silber with a black synthetic material masked on the nose
- this is just one of many photos taken, however this is the only one that shows most details of the vehicle

I think I'm getting the pattern of the new Lexus line-up now. The hybrid model numbers really confuse me x]

So here it is...the non-hybrid RX is gonna have traditional headlights like the non-hybrid LS. The hybrid version is gonna have those LEDs from the LF-Xh concept just as the hybrid LS had those awesome headlights from the LF-Sh concept.

sigh...this is a far cry from the LF-Xh concept, though :(

Sorry, but that just looks like a p*** poor chop to me- made to look like like a bad photo. I got an old phone too, they have poor resolution and no exposure control, I reckon what you have above is a smudgy photoshop with some strange proportions (distance between headlamp and grille trim along bonnet shutline is the most obvious one. And then a few effects/filters applied. Why is it in black and white also? I don't recall camera phones being B & W and if it was such a poor phone how does it still pic out the definition of the rings in the headlamps. An old phone would have been more about compression artifacts than anything else.

I'm no expert though and I could be wrong. Lets keep our eyes peeled for better shots of the Lexus around Nürburg

To be fair I took it to mean that he was driving within close proximity to the Ring or one of the local villages, as also IIRC no passengers allowed, so I'd be suprised if it was even in the car park prior to the circuit entrance.

Dunno about that my friend. You keep repeating the same designs you become predictable and an easy target.

Look how well Mazda has done when they broke the mold a few years back. Even in these tough times they are making progress because they stand out from the crowd.

MichaelTaylor might actually--God forbid--be right this time.

The RX has been a successful formula (whether you like it or not, it is a top seller). I can see Lexus evolving the RX concept and perfecting it once again. Just like it did with the original LS which remained largely the same through 3 generations.

Agent009 is also right because at some point, Lexus is going to have to reinvent the RX concept, just like they did with the recent LS. I could see that happening 4-5 years down the line when they decide to re-engineer the RX and take it to the next level.

I know they sell a ton of the RX's, but I personally never got the styling. I always thought it was awkward with the clear lenses on the rear lights and that strange D-pillar.

From what I have heard, the outsie will have little suttle changes, however it's the inside that will get lots of attention !! Heated and cooled seats, Smart Key system, and a new Gen 6 Nav system !!!

Crapan. Garbage??? Please explain as the RX has been a HUGE hit since it was introduced !!! And I don't see Lexus/Toyota having trouble selling vehicle's or wondering what their vehicle's are worth at the end of a lease. Unlike most domestic's which will be out of business soon before Lexus/Toyota, I see MB and BMW hurting alot more than us...

So why don't you keep your "garbage" remarks to yourself. And don't say anything that you have no clue about !

AM, the RX is an upscale highlander. Lexus needs to separate itself from Toyota to a greater degree. The IS, GS, and LS are prime examples while the RX and ES are examples of what Lexus should move beyond. If you would criticize Audi for sharing w/ VW then you should also criticize Lexus for sharing w/ Toyota.

why would they put the RX on the nurburgring? do they think soccer moms and geriatrics are going to buy this thing for its handling prowess?

91Z I agree with you to a point. Some of the design''s and structures are shared, but that's where it stops. For the record, I wouldn't blame anyone brand from doing it, unless it's useless like GM having a Chevy and GMW truck that is 99.8% the same !!

Lexus uses thicker sheetmetal, has alot more sound dampening, and of course more plush seats, leather, and more options.

I could go on and on, but that should make the point.

This picture looks definitely like fake.

Old school phone with no zoom feature, and yet the picture is like she stood couple feet away from the car. Also, you "were driving" and yet, picture came out perfectly horizontal.

I'll say it again, looks like bogus picture.

P.S.: B&W camera phone? WTF?

This picture is obviously a fake, but from what I've heard, this could be a pretty close representation of what it does look like. Many sources have told me it doesn't look very changed from the back, but the front looks like an IS (much in the same way the LX570 looks similar to the LS460). The RX is supposed to be an evolutionary body type, similar to a 911 or most of the Audi cars.

What is going to be most exciting is all the new gadgets inside. Standard rear-view camera on the mirror, Generation 6 Navigation, Smart Access, Air Conditioned seats, and standard Bluetooth.

It will do extremely well. I have also heard the gas mileage is going to improve. Not sure if it is because it's lighter or more aerodynamic or what, but it's what I've heard.
