The all-new BMW 5-Series is in the works. Given the stiff competition in form of the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the blue and white has to bring its "A" game.
That's because Mercedes has thrown in the kitchen sink with the all-new E, and if you ask us it looks pretty damn good too.
BMW's effort is critical to the brand. The 5'er has always been a popular, volume-selling product. In addition, it too shepherds in the latest and greatest technology on offer.
There's just one thing, however. Looks are just as important. While the E60 BMW was easily one of the worst looking vehicles in history, the E39 was an icon. What shall BMW do with the next-gen? Go bold, brash and show progression?
If that's what you were hoping for, you shouldn't hold your breath. The latest all-new spy shots of the 5-Series show a vehicle that is, largely, looking too similar to the current-gen 5-Series. For us, we see this as problematic. The next-gen midsize BMW sedan should be more of a revolution than an evolution.
That said, we're curious: Is the next-gen 5'er look like a bit of a snoozer?
