SPIED: BMW 1-Series -- What Is It?! Tii/Supersport? X-drive? M1?

Sweeeeeeeet!

Definitely must be the M1/tii. Same features as the tii concept car. How do you think BMW will market it? M1 for the M-car loving crowd or tii for the history? I'll bet on it being called the M1 but hope for a tii badge.

bump the output of the twin turbo 3.0L to 380hp and 420lb-ft (easily achievable at virtually zero cost to BMW), tune out the understeer from the standard 135i (again, virtually no cost to BMW, they already have the suspension parts available), and give the car the M LSD, and you have a pretty killer entry level M car.

For the upper-scale models, they should make the taillights LED strips only. To clarify what I mean: I love those LED strips on the facelifted 5-series, but I hate the taillights when the brakes are applied. Those brake lights look cheap - bright, conspicuous, and safe, but not pretty.

It would be very strange to have such large fender flares on an x-drive mule. My wish list:

-Lightweight bucket seats
-Lightweight exhaust
-Lightweight wheels (thinking BBS FI here)
-Lightweight battery
-M3 Suspension bits
-CF Hood, roof, trunk, driveshaft
-A proper LSD
-7 speed DCT
-N54/N55 for the engine. An advanced turbo 4 making ~300hp would also be nice
-final weight ~3100lbs, able to pull over 1G on the skid pad out of the box
-available in the U.S.

good, I'm glad I waited and didn't get the 135i. I think this will be the next M coupe as was stated on the linked website. I mean what other clues do you need---carbonfiber roof, wheel flares, trying lightweight wheels, bigger crossed drilled performance brakes, exhaust...It all points to a performance oriented version. Now what they need as was stated is a M diff.
Although, with the 135i coupe already getting 0-60 in 4.7 secs, a car that gets 4.4-4.5 or even 4.3, is putting it very close to the M3, even matching some of the times for the M3 sedan. This car is almost a cross between a e46 M3 and 135i, like they took the best from both worlds.

The regular 1 series is ugly enough....Why, Why, Why??? I'm sorry, the 1er has good performance, but it is ugly as hell. I drive a 6 in case your'e wondering.
