SPIED: BMW's All-New 3-Series GT Caught Testing On U.S. Soil + A Special Surprise

In the past week it has been a pretty busy one with the all-new BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo coming out from hiding AND the 2013 Chicago Auto Show taking up Thursday and Friday.

But, what piqued our interest yesterday were a set of shots sent to us from one of our favorite spies, Fred Khaz. While running about SoCal, he happened to stumble upon several interesting BMWs undergoing testing sporting special California plates.

In this first story we're including the shots Khaz snapped of the all-new BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo testing. Though we now know what the vehicle looks like, I think these shots show more clearly what it will look like in the flesh. From where I am sitting it appears that it has a lot of heft above its waistline.

And the surprise, you ask?

That would be found in the last couple of shots of the BMW 3-Series sporting a single exhaust. From what I can tell, this appears to be the new 320i. As far as I know this isn't supposed to be on sale until the springtime.
