Actually, I lied.
The BMW X6M is not close to the brand's history at all.
But it is a helluva lot of fun, I will say that. The outgoing model has BMW M3 (E46) performance but has A LOT more space and is quite comfortable. And it looks great. What's there NOT to like?
Now that the all-new X5 has been released it's only a matter of time before the all-new X6 and, of course, the X5M and X6M.

Compared to the standard BMW X6, the M variant features a redesigned front and rear bumper, lowered suspension, bigger brakes and wheels and a quad-exit exhaust system - like that found on the previous X6 M and current-gen M cars.
