Although we've seen the all-new BMW 1-Series five door make its debut abroad, the domestic market on this side of the water hasn't gotten a taste yet. Not even a sip.

But that could change in the near future as BMW's clearly developing something a bit more palatable for the North American market. That, my friends, would be the debut of a 1 -- or 2 -- Series coupe much like we have currently.

Given that we know the 1-Series is suppose to have a bit of a touch up on its face, we're crossing our fingers that the 1 -- or 2 -- Series doesn't have that boneheaded look of the current 1-Series abroad.

This is the first outing for the forthcoming BMW 2-series Coupé, the car which will replace the 1-series Coupé in 2014. It will sit within the BMW range in the same manner as the recently announced 4-series, which replaces the 3-series Coupé and cabrio.

The new car is based on the current 1-series, so should benefit from that car’s increased interior space, along with wider tracks front and rear, but has a longer rear overhang.
