Well, that was fast!

The all-new Porsche 911 (991) Targa hasn't even arrived in showrooms yet but it's already been spotted sporting discrete camouflage hinting that the 911's updates will also make there way into the rarely seen Targa model in short order.

To make matters worse, it turns out that Porsche may be building a GTS variant of the Targa. At least that's what Autocar is saying.

The publication from abroad is basing this on some subtle updates that were spotted on a prototype. The dead giveaway is the exhaust that is centrally mounted. It doesn't seem logical as the Targa is not a big seller by any benchmark but knowing Porsche, it wouldn't be a complete shock if the company decided to build yet another variant for Porschephiles.

As they say in this biz: "there's an ass for every seat."

Porsche has started development on a facelifted version of the new 911 Targa. Although only launched at the Detroit motor show earlier this year, the current Targa is set to receive subtle styling tweaks as well as a hotter new GTS version, spied here for the first time.
