It looks like BMW's and Mercedes-Benz's entry-level premium convertible wars is starting to heat up and just think, it's only the beginning!

Though we just mentioned in our last story the Mercedes C-Class and its upcoming drop-top variant being spied, we're now going to switch gears and get a bit of a more revealing look at BMW's competitive offering, the 4-Series.

Seemingly taking a lesson or two learned from the E93 3-Series convertible, it doesn't appear to stray too far from what currently exists.

Aside from that, don't expect much else to stray far from the 4-Series coupe's equipment.


Have a look at the latest F33 4 Series convertible prototype, revealing more of its defining characteristic - its metal folding roof. Earlier spyshots (reposted below) show the hard top operation and the design is largely similar to the current E93 convertible.
