If you're a fan of the four rings, aside from the Audi R8 there's another sports car that has a buttload of appeal. That would be the current-gen, V8-powered RS5.

Personally, I didn't connect with it when I piloted it. It felt too heavy, ponderous and as though its steering rack was dipped in molasses. The thing is a lot of people dig it and prefer it to the BMW M3/M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63.

As we're awaiting the debut of the A5 and S5, which we've seen testing quite a bit, we're excited to share with you these all-new pics of the upcoming RS5.

This appears to be an early mule in full camouflage. From what we can tell though it will feature larger air intakes to keep the powerplant cool and a super aggressive stance to keep its center of gravity as low as possible. As of now there's no blistered fenders or oval exhaust tips but the wiiiide rear tires and big brake kit are a dead giveaway of what this actually is.

(Edit: Upon closer inspection from the side profile, it looks like there may be some tacked-on fender flares to accommodate a wider track front and rear).


...The larger intakes have been added to feed the RS model’s more potent engine, which, despite being unconfirmed, is expected to switch from the current normally aspirated V8 with 444bhp to a twin-turbocharged V6 producing around 500bhp.

That should mean the new four-wheel-drive coupé is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in around four seconds...
