When I saw the sculpture in Detroit, I was not entirely sure if the new CLS was going to look hot.

But, when I saw these spy shots today, I think they may have another winner on their hands. If you take a second and observe the photos closely, you can make out the new headlight and taillight shape, the roofline is evident as-is the pontoon rear fenders.

Who else is diggin' it?

These are the latest spy pictures of AMG’s range-topping version of the new Mercedes CLS.

The saloon is set to be revealed at the Paris motor show in September; an estate version will be launched at next week’s Beijing motor show.

Codenamed C218, the new CLS sits on the same underpinnings as the current E-class, with a 20mm longer wheelbase than today’s model along with a corresponding increase in length, taking it to around 4950mm. But as with the first-gen CLS, the new car is more about style than interior space...
