Most of the time it is reasonably easy to tell what's going on when you see a prototype undergoing testing. This time, not the case.

Thanks to AutoSpies resident spy snapper, Fred Khaz, we've got some peculiar shots of what appears to be a GLK-Class undergoing some testing in SoCal. And, it is sportin' some light camo.

Now here's the question of the day: what the hell is it?

Since there isn't anything really standing out to me besides the light camo and what appear to be slightly revised lamellas -- chrome grill inserts -- I would wager that this could be the GLK with the new six-cylinder powerplant racking up some miles.

If there is anything that MB does well these days, it is definitely rack up millions of miles on a product before letting any buyers get a hold of it.

What say you, Spies? What do you make of the mysterious GLK?
