Did you hear that? It was the sound of thousands of teenage girls shrill screams at the sight of the all-new MINI Cooper Convertible, spotted here for the first time. It's just that damn cute.

Anyhow, this is the first time we're seeing the all-new MINI in drop-top form and all should be pretty predictable from here on out. The motors and interior will be identical, as well as the fun factor.

Some of the most fun I've had behind the wheel was in a Cooper S JCW Convertible — the exhaust that cracks and bangs on the overrun is just SO lovable.

Word on the street suggests we'll get our first look at a production ready vehicle at this September's Paris Motor Show. We'll relay more news as it comes in.

It will be the second of four initial models to launch in the new Mini lineup, following the three-door hatchback and ahead of the five-door hatch and Clubman models, which both arrive in 2015. Both of those models have also been spotted testing.

Like the other models in the range, the Mini Convertible is based on the versatile UKL1 platform. The car retains its folding soft-top roof and four-seat cabin, though updates to the interior to bring it in line with the hatchback are expected...
