As the BMW 2-Series arrives in dealers' hands, one would probably notice relatively quick that only the coupe is out so far. And if you follow the 1-Series' lineage there was a convertible variant for those seeking fun in the sun.

Like most BMW product launches, the hard top model debuts first followed by the drop top approximately one to two years post introduction. Well, it appears the rag top isn't far behind when it comes to the 2-Series. The only reason we know this is because the vehicle's been spotted undergoing testing with extremely limited camouflage.

The summer months are typically slow for new product launches, so, we expect the all-new 2-Series convertible to appear at either the Frankfurt Motor Show or Paris Motor Show in the fall.

...Based on the 2-series coupe, the four-seat 2-series cabriolet is the successor to the 1-series cabriolet, the new car the latest to adopt BMW’s new naming strategy for its more sporting models.
