The Ferrari California has been a pretty big success for the prancing horse given all of the bellyaching from the purists that thought a folding metal roof wasn't an ideal way to commemorate the iconic 250 GT California. It's brought new folks into the brand with a lower barrier of entry and more "practical" ownership experience.

That said, it's gotten a bit long in the tooth.

And with competition continuing to advance, Ferrari has to do something. They're competitive, you know. The latest word on the street is suggesting that Ferrari will be upping the V8's power via not one, but TWO turbos.

Hopping on the bandwagon of forced induction — and I am speculating here — I'd assume the new California to churn out approximately 520-550 horsepower. Though it nudges up against the likes of the 570 or so horsepower 458 Italia, I can't imagine a bi-turbo powerplant producing much less than that 520-550 mark.

The latest photos we've got just came in and it doesn't appear too much different over the current product but you'll notice the camouflage over the headlights.
