One vehicle that's been making the rounds on the spy circuit is the next-generation Audi Q7.
There's several good reasons why this vehicle's been getting more attention lately:
1) The Q7 is a decent selling luxury sport-utility vehicle and given how Audi has been making moves in the luxury market, it's a critical product for the four rings to help it move more volume;
2) This won't be a simple re-skinning of the current-gen vehicle. This is said to be a heavily re-engineered vehicle with weight savings rumored upwards of 700-800 pounds and featuring the latest Audi tech; and...
3) Sources have said that this will be the FIRST Audi product to debut the all-new front grille and design language.
Though it's tough to make out, if you click "Read Article" and blow up the images, you'll be able to really get in close and see where Audi is taking the all-new Q7.
No word on when we can expect to see it on a show stand, but I'd guess we'll see a concept at the Geneva Motor Show with a production model showing up at the Frankfurt Motor Show or Paris Motor Show.
Maybe if we're lucky Audi will show off the concept at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. It looks like its docket is empty and we know how much the company loves to surprise the media with unknown concepts...
Our intrepid spy photographers were hiding out in the bushes and behind mailboxes again.. Here are some more shots of obviously pre-production and heavily disguised Q7 test rigs. Not sure what to make of the shape, but the lights and such are very much more modern than the old Q7.. from what we can see anyway.
