Recently spotted on a SoCal thoroughfare were a BMW 5-Series and 7-Series. Thanks to our eagle eye, Fred Khaz, we've got you the exclusive pictures.

Here's the thing though: It doesn't appear that these two cars are anything out of the ordinary. The 5-Series appears to be a current-gen model and the 7-Series appears to be a current-gen model as well.

Well, that was until I took a closer look at the 5-Series.

The more camouflaged of the two vehicles traveling at speed, the 5'er is noticeably smaller than the 7'er. Assuming this is the next-gen car with its production body, it doesn't appear that BMW will be breaking the mold here. In other words, do not expect a revolution.

To me, there's two giveaways that this is the next-gen model. Firstly, there's a much stronger line running from the vehicle's front fender and into the door panel. Secondly — I had to zoom in super close to see this one — there appears to be an air curtain vent in front of the vehicle's front tire. From what I can see there's a slit in the camouflage. Following this slit there's an ever so slight scalloping of the bodywork. This means that the "hockey stick" look will be passed down from the 7 to the 5'er.

I hope my eyes are playing tricks on me but the more I look at the image the more I am convinced.

See for yourselves, below!
