The Opel Insignia is one of those sedans that has done great things for General Motors abroad but hasn't exactly cinched the deal for Buick in the good 'ol U-S-of-A. Known as the Buick Regal on our shores I'd say it's done "ok" but it hasn't blown away the competition.
Imagine you're shopping for an all-new Buick and you walk into the showroom to find the Regal and LaCrosse sitting next to each other. The reality is the LaCrosse's extra space and marginal price differential isn't going to make buyers run for the Regal, which is smaller and not considerably less expensive.
So, we hope that GM's head honchos are concocting something good for this revamp.
