You know, I've always noticed that Porsche develops its products through and through, but I must say that in the past 24 months it's been absolutely remarkable to see the manufacturer put the 911 through research and development. The company literally never stops.

I know this because it seems like every other day an all-new set of spy photographs of the 911 doing testing have been snapped. And people wonder why we think this is the best sports car in production today!

The latest 911 news to emerge is that the legendary Porsche will be getting an update. At least, the GT3 model, that is. Criticized for only being offering with a dual-clutch gearbox for the 991 generation, the company is back pedaling from that move. For 2017 the boys and girls from Stuttgart have confirmed that a six-speed manual will be available — lifted from the 911 R — and, from what can tell, there will be minor exterior changes to the GT3.

Take a good look at its front clip that's a bit deeper and features all-new intakes. In addition, note that the tester is shod with the large diameter, center lock, cross-spoke wheels. Lastly, there will be some modified LED driving lights in the front clip. Aside from that, it appears to be largely a carry over model, unless our German friends decided to focus on some interior revisions.
