In recent months we've been keeping an eye on the all-new Porsche Cayman GT4 and its Boxster counterpart. Seeing that the Cayman GT4's information and images have been fully released for the world to see, it's clear that's not an issue any more.

At this point we expect the specifications to be mirrored in the Boxster variant — originally rumored to be called the RS, then Boxster GT4. Why? Well, why not? It seems a bit too silly to have two different engines for what essentially amounts to the same product. Not to mention both of these being the flagship models of their respective models will command a pretty premium.

As evidenced in the latest spy shots, it appears that the hardcore Boxster model will be dubbed the Spyder as seen in the last-gen product. In addition, it will also wear what's been jokingly called in the industry "a funny hat."

If it's fully manual like the last-gen car I can attest it will be a pain in the ass to install; however, it has just that right amount of panache that you HAVE TO love.

Considering two of my favorite autos I've ever driven are the last-gen Cayman R and Boxster Spyder, it's safe to say I am looking forward to both the Cayman GT4 and next-gen Boxster Spyder.
