Well, this is a cockup of systemic proportions.

Yesterday, pictures of a supposed Mercedes-Benz 911 competitor, the SLC, hit the interweb. Numerous publications went about talking about the SLC being a head-on competitor to square up against the Porsche 911.

What I want to know is, what about this SLS AMG looks like an SLC or provides a hint that this could be an SLC?

First, it wears an SLS AMG body. Its wheelbase isn't modified nor does its wheels and tires look "off." On some prototypes you'll notice that the wheelbase is different as the body doesn't match the chassis. Not the case here.

In addition, this vehicle is sporting the AMG Performance Package's high-end, carbon ceramic brakes. Oh, and those rear tires are quite beefy. Could that be a 20-inch, three-piece wheel on some seriously thick rubber? Looks like it but I don't have a measuring tape.

Also I've noticed that the front/rear tracks appear slightly wider than your standard "Gullwing," as there are what appears to be larger fender flares.

Then there's the tell-tale quad-tipped, squared off exhaust that looks exactly like the C63 AMG Black Series. Not to mention the beefier rear clip that will likely have more venting and a diffuser.

Is it just me or is ANYONE else seeing these traits?

Should we score one for the Agents or is this an SLC in wolf's clothing?
