It's pretty easy to say that most electric vehicles are below par. They just aren't exciting, fun to drive and aren't delivering on those zero emissions claims anyhow -- where do you think most electricity comes from?

The sentiments expressed applies to most electric vehicles; however, when you're talking about a modified Audi R8 we can't imagine it being terrible. Though we'll have to wait until we get behind the wheel to judge, a Dutch publication somehow received these snaps of the all-new E-Tron's interior.

It's pretty clear that weight savings are important -- as it should be in an EV -- since it's pretty easy to spot the Porsche GT3's manual, carbon fiber-backed seats.

In addition, note that the next-generation MMI is making one of its first appearances on the center tunnel where the emergency brake is now missing. I'd wager it has been swapped out for that switch behind the MMI controls. Looking elsewhere, the center stack is likely to be reconfigured and the gearshift appears to be for a one or two-speed transmission for an electric.

One oddity: What's up with the cupholders that appear as though they're for back seat passengers, which doesn't exist in the R8?
