I wonder if the original creators of the Chevrolet Camaro expected that one day it would be having its shakedown testing in Germany. I'd guess probably not.

Clearly though this illustrates that General Motors is not playing around with the performance of its newest Camaro. Featuring a variant of the CTS-V's LSA powerplant, this motor will push out 580 horsepower, which is more than the V's 556.

The real question is how THAT much power will play out with the suspension. Last year I had the chance to drive the ultra cool Ford Mustang GT500 but the problem was there was definitely WAY too much power for the car. Whenever you'd apply the power it felt like it was going to bite your face off, which is a fitting for a car named after a wild horse.

My bet is that the Camaro will be more fun in the twisties while the Mustang is going to be the go-to car for straight-line pulls.

Anyhow, let us know: are you excited for the ZL1 or is it just "meh."
