One of the automotive industry's hardest hit classes — in terms of sales — has been luxury two seaters and two plus twos. People just aren't as eager to spend for an impractical ride as, say, a sport-utility vehicle.

That hasn't stopped automakers from making them though. One such example is the all-new Audi TT that debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Below you'll note it was recently spotted doing some testing at the world famous Nürburgring. Seems that one of the drivers was having a bit of fun in the ridiculous wet conditions and was happy to get the car sideways.

But, for me, there seems to be a bigger problem with the TT. While it seems that it would make sense for the car to be a "baby" R8 — a la the Nissan 370Z in relation to the GT-R — in reality it's just a dressed up and less practical Golf R. Just me, though.

Spied on the Nürburgring Nordschleife: two brand new Audi TT's, model year 2015. The black one is the new TTS Coupé, but the grey one is, judging by the sound of it, a turbocharged one. The new TTS Coupé has a 2.0 liter TFSi engine producing 228 Kw (310 HP). It was very rainy that day and the TT put down some nice 4WD powerslides on the wet track. Enjoy!
