As the competition in the luxury sport-utility vehicle class continues to get stiffer, automakers are starting to step up to the plate with even more robust offerings. Next up, the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class.

While the current-gen product has done quite well, it's time to put her out to pasture and get an all-new chassis.

Though spy shots of the next-gen product are starting to make their way onto the next, this video posted by Autobild is pretty spectacular. That's because it shows the development car from a variety of angles and also gives us a great look into the future GLK. Though it is taped up pretty tight, take a close look at its proportions.

To us it looks pretty clear that Mercedes will increase the size of the GLK to bring it more upmarket. This way it will have more differentiation from the all-new GLA that's due out soon.

One thing that will be interesting to see is if Mercedes will produce a next-gen GLK AMG as the marque has previously stated an AMG would not come to the GLK nameplate. Considering that just about every other vehicle in the portfolio has an AMG counterpart, it seems almost wrong not to include it in the fun.
