While Porsche has dropped the all-new 911, the Carrera, Carrera S and now the likes of the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S, it's about time for the others to start coming out from hiding.

While we've spotted the 991 Turbo in testing for quite sometime, soon after the new Carrera's debut we started seeing the GT3 undergoing developmental testing.

Since then though there has been a debate over the transmission it will be receiving. Some sources are saying it will only come with one type of transmission, while others are speculating it will have a secondary, optional gearbox.

Given the shift of buyers spec'ing vehicles with automated manuals or simply autos, it seems that the business case would defer towards only opting the vehicle with a PDK transmission. Though I can't imagine many things being better than a six-speed GT3 -- granted, we'd assume Porsche would retrofit the all-new seven-speed 'box in the GT3.

So, here's the news: If you subscribe to the believe that the next-gen GT3 will only come with one transmission, then it looks like we'll only receive a PDK tranny. One look -- and listen -- to the video below should end ALL speculation there.

However, if you're like me, you'll cross your fingers and hope that Porsche offers a do-it-yourself from the factory as well.

There have been several conflicting reports regarding the transmission options for the upcoming Porsche 991 GT3. EVO Magazine stated the car would have 470 horsepower and a PDK trans. Our latest report on the topic stated Porsche was leaning toward offering the PDK trans and that both manual and PDK versions were undergoing testing. The video below clearly shows PDK rev matched downshifts and the lightning quick PDK upshifts.
