Considering Volvo's second best-selling product is the XC60, we'd expect the XC40 to espouse similar virtues and lift sales from the C30, which has become a niche player. In May 2012, it only moved over 230 units off dealer lots.

Volvo is preparing a BMW X1-rivalling crossover based on the new V40, and these spy pictures prove it’s on track for a debut at the Paris Motor Show this September.
