Could be a hybrid version of the 7-series. More likely than an M7 unfortunately— Schwitz916 (View Profile)

if it were a hybrid or an m7, why would they have to disguise the body so heavily? the basic body would be similar to the current models, and all this cladding would just bring attention. i recall hearing about a more coupe-like 7 series variant some time back, but even that doesnt make sense, as the roofline looks standard.i'm clueless. is it possibly just an old picture?— 1995e34 (View Profile)

I don't think it was taken today. I think it was taken a while back and this is either the F01 prototype prior to launch or the F01 prototype with the M-sport package.— BondMI6 (View Profile)

It's not disguised all that much which leads this one to think it is likely a hybrid version that might have slightly different cladding, light lenses, and other minor details. Surveys show that hybrid buyers need to have a level of uniqueness to make sure the world knows how much smarter they are than the average driver. In addition, the wheel and tire package on this car appears to lean more toward the low end of the totem pole, not sized and proportionate as one would expect with an M7.— SteedPub (View Profile)

Couldn't they have just removed the hybrid badges? No one would have known or cared. The coverings just brought more attention to it.— PlanB (View Profile)

I know it's got the cladding...but since it appears to be LONG wheel base, could it be a newer 760Li? Otherwise, I'd go with hybrid— DogLb (View Profile)

Hybrid 7 would make sense. Talked to my salesman at Field's about a week ago about the prospects of an Active Hybrid 7 to replace my e65. He mentioned that essentially all of the U.S. bound Active Hybrids are going either to California or New York.— GreenPlease (View Profile)

If it's not a 7-series hybrid, could it be a 2011 5-series that is just following the 7-series styling? It looks a little short to be a 7 from the picture or could just be the angles. The headlights under the masking look a little bit different than the current 7 series.— Schwitz916 (View Profile)
