Acura as a company should be moving forward. It simply can't with that beak and design philosophy with their latest models. I loved the 2002 to 2003 TL and the last generation but while the interior of Acuras are still nicely put together the exterior is a tragedy. I don't hate Acura but they should strive to move closer to it's main competitor Infiniti and Lexus.— Agent63 (View Profile)

Agreed. Acura's are good cars. Their build quality is under-rated in my opinion. For example I found the TL's interior superior to that of the RL. Anyways, the MDX and TL had the most solid interiors in my opinion. Great bang for buck value. What's standard on the TL was optional or more expensive on C-Class or 3 series models.— Agent63 (View Profile)

The face is its undoing, as is the case with ALL current Acuras. This "design theme" is going to go down in history as one of the biggest flops of the era. They need to tidy their front end up. Big grilles and chrome doesn't a great deisgn make. — tango (View Profile)

How is the X6 a success? I don't think it wants its "success" as it is only on the market one year later than the X6. It's more of a parallel development. The start of the development of the ZDX happened before the X6 even made it to market.— _43LE (View Profile)

"Hideous", "awful", etc. I don't understand what people see to categorize it that way. Please elaborate with an intelligent explanation of what you see. Looks kind of tame to me compared to some other recent designs by the industry. In fact, I'd call it kind of boring. The grill gets your attention but we've seen that for 2 years now. When are poeple going to give the jokes a rest with that? Did it take this long to settle down on the BMW and Audi grills when they went for a standout look? It's a grill. Far from defines the car's design. If that were not true, Audi's drop jaw design would have killed sales entirely. That has to be the worst of all the "gaud grills" — SpicyMikey (View Profile)

This car looks very odd with the rear sloped. It's cross-dresser rather than a cross-over. I respect Honda's technical work - love their cars, but something is really wrong at Acura. My Acura MDX had a lot of quality issues that should have been caught on the line, so I will not buy or recommend this brand. My Accord was flawless. If anything Acura is a good example for what a company should not do with a luxury brand. I think it's time for a letter writing campaign to Honda HQ to stop this insanity. — g2ok (View Profile)

Wouldn't argue with that much. If nothing else, this is definitely the wrong product at the wrong time. That's probably easy for everyone to agree on. A Coupe variant of somekind? Move the S2000 RWD roadster to Acura and build off that? Create a next gen RL to better compete in that segment? We could go on. Any one of those would probably have been a better next offering if they wanted to expend the lineup. This does nothing to raise the brand image even if it does turn out to be a good product. Interested to see how that new 6AT performs. Those 5AT Honda transmissions are getting long in the tooth and are a bit primative. — SpicyMikey (View Profile)

"It 'WANTS' the success of the X6". Ha. you just reinforced your own motives. The X6 is not a success. It's BMW's second lowest seller this year by far and is trounced by the X5 by almost a 7-1 sales ratio. I certainly hope that's not hte kind of "success" Acura wants. — senorgato (View Profile)

Audi wasnt the first designer to do big grilles. Big Grilles=more air into your engine. More air into your engine=better fuel economy. Big grilles pretty much were on cars FROM DAY ONE!!!!!! It was those stupid manufacturuers in the 50s that decided that big grilles were passe`. Then again from about 1955-1995 was the worst period in car design ever. After about 1995 the car makers started to get ir right, and they just get better and better everyday. 1. More rounded shapes. 2. Sharper lines. 3. Larger grilles. 4. Increased athletic stances. 5. Headlights and grilles that look like human faces somewhat. 6. Wider track wheels.7. More ergonomically oriented interiors that arent built to a price.8. More ostentatious company grilles and sloped back designs.Take that you ugly ass 1957 Chevy, ugly 1985 VW, Ugly 1960s muscle cars!!!!!This is almost the best design era in Automotive history. Every car made today is designed so well, that in a different era each one of them could have been a hit. Even those outlandish Chinese designs, are better than pretty much everything in the 80s. EWWW, 80S CARS, YUCK!!!!1930s and 1940s designs are a little bit better, but the automakers today are giving them a run for their money.— HyundaiSmoke (View Profile)

Hyundaismoke, no... big grills do not mean better fuel economy. In fact it means quite the opposite. Big open grills produce lots of drag which destroys fuel economy. Most grills are used to let air pass over the engine/radiators to cool the engine, not for air going into the engine.— Joe_Limon (View Profile)

The 60, 70s, and 80s were the pinnacle of design for Trucks and Buses. Todays Buses and Trucks are horrid looking. If only someone had the balls to copy a GM New Look Bus, and modernize it, or an MCI 100 Series or MCI 7, 8, 9 series bus, Or a 80s Flixible Bus, or a 60s and 70s Grumman/Flixible New look bus, or an 80s Chevy Suburban, or an international school bus from the 60s 70s and 80s. Not only they looked sweet but they sounded sweet too. Also todays buses break down a lot compared to the old school buses, just go on the transit forums and see how many people complain about their stupid NovaBUS, their stupid Orion bus, etc...
