I have to admit, I actually like the way the all-new Cadillac ATS looks.

While it's certainly not a departure from the way Cadillac has been designing its vehicles in recent years with its mostly sharpened edges and trim physique, there's something about its proportions and overall stance that I dig. And now, for the first time, we're seeing just what's possible when you use your imagination and let the modding begin.

D3 Group, of whom I have never heard of previously, has decided to use its ingenuity to put together a more impressive ATS. Considering it is going head-to-head with the likes of the entry-level gods from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Infiniti and anyone else you can think of, it has to have the ability to be customized. As we see with many 3-Series, A4s, C-Classes and IS', buyers like to personalize their product.

In this first iteration, D3 has taken the standard ATS and improved upon it with cosmetic mods to the grille, the addition of aerodynamic details (side skirts, rear spoiler, roof spoiler, front valence, etc.), a new intake, wheels and what appears to be a coilover suspension.

But...does this all end up coming together as a STUD or a DUD?
