Saab BioPower 100 Concept: Running On No Gasoline
The Saab BioPower 100 Concept, presented at the Geneva Motor Show, showcases the first production-based turbo e ngine to be optimized for pure, eco-friendly bioethanol (E100) fuel. The result is a level of performance never seen before from a road car using this fuel.

This exciting concept takes Saab BioPower technology to a new level by showing the true potential of combining turbocharging and sophisticated engine management with pure bioethanol fuel. And in demonstrating that greener motoring means even sportier driving, it also extends Saab’s technical leadership of Europe's emerging ‘flex-fuel’ segment. ....continued

Choose bio diesel instead. Less hype, better for environment.

"The study showed that both corn grain ethanol and soybean biodiesel produce more energy than is needed to grow the crops and convert them into biofuels. This finding refutes other studies claiming that these biofuels require more energy to produce than they provide. The amount of energy each returns differs greatly, however. Soybean biodiesel returns 93 percent more energy than is used to produce it, while corn grain ethanol currently provides only 25 percent more energy."

What's in matter. We'll be running on hydrogen in 10 years anyway.

And hybrid-electric technology will still be relevant when hydrogen takes off.

Who wants a hydrogen/diesel hybrid?

Drew,
If we're lucky, both GM and Honda will be selling them at a relatively affordable price.

We'll have to wait 10 years for hydrogen to be remotely commonplace (like diesel). Until then, it'll probably be just California that gets them.

I heard Honda would have the FCX on sale by 2008. That would be quite a landmark.

A test of it in CAR magazine stated that "if it works, Honda could be bigger than Toyota and Shell rolled into one."

I hope so. They deserve it, after years of such hard work on the project.

I'd buy one.
