Seeing the 2010 Nissan 370Z - More Pictures
The Deal: Nissan called us late last week with a special offer. In an effort to quiet speculation sparked by recent leaks of spy photos and videos, the Nissan PR department offered us special access to a camouflaged preproduction prototype of the next generation 2010 Nissan 370Z sports car -- as long as we followed a few rules.

The Rules: Nissan allowed us to crawl all over the car as well as shoot photos and video of it. But as part of the agreement, we cannot disclose anything related to how the new Z drives since the car they showed us is not a final production model. We are also forbidden to show or discuss any part of the interior (although we have some spy shots of the interior for you below) or what's under the hood.

Not much of a deal? Actually, it was -- in our few hours with the car and analysis of the images and footage we captured, we learned a ton. Here is all we know so far about the next generation Nissan Z.

I'm 6'0", and I'm getting one!

Based on the fact that the G37 does a 0-60 on 5.0 Sec, I will predict the 370Z to do in in about 4.7. Handling will also be amazing. Can't wait to test drive one.

I know how you feel man, I think this car is going to be awesome. However, if it is smaller than the current, I doubt I will be able to get one, as I sat in the current one and didn't have nearly enough leg room at 6'2.

Two words to describe the new 370Z: sleek and sexy!!! I cannot wait for the roadster version of it! I will definitely be getting the roadster to replace my current 350Z coupe!

She still looks a bit inflated but ready to push the Z4 & TT out of the way again!

Where the hell is the Supra? Nissan is already on its 2nd generation of this car & Toyota hasn't given us anything yet.

The Z went on a diet, great. Coupled with the power gain and that Infiniti-like interior, sounds like a winner.

Much improved but the final touch is a power retractable hardtop.

wow, this new one makes the current model look like the 90's 300zx. i see hints of the bmw z coupe (which often reminded me of the datsun 240z). anyhow, i like it a lot. while everyone else is clowning around awd and retractable roofs, nissan is just making a traditional sports car. imagine that.

It looks to be about 10 inches shorter then the current generation. That would put the length at about 160 inches. That makes it similar in size to a Z3 and Audi TT. If the curent Z weighs in at about 3400 LBS this new one should be at least 200 LBS lighter say 3150 LBS.Using the same engine as the G37 0-60 should be about 4.5 seconds. A Cayman S does it in 4.7 with a 295 HP versus 330 for the G37. Further a Cayman S has a similar weight. This is my prediction only.

This is going to be a great Z car. I can't wait to see them on the road. I love the new grille they plan for the Z.

Another slow a** car powered by the worst sounding and performing joke of an engine ever made. I bet somewhere on this engine there is a "made in china"...
What a joke Nissan/Infiniti is...what a joke...

Nissan is becoming the Monster Development Company. This thing will destroy all of its competitors, just like its big sister the GT-R is.

It'd be cool if it was smaller, lighter, and faster... but who cares? Nissan will void your warranty at the first sign of fun driving w/ their black box. I'm going to stay away. What a shame.

Smaller, faster, cheaper. What more could you ask for? The styling is a lot more agressive and cool looking. Yes Nissan is doing what Toyota can't ( I believe truly ) do. Infiniti has more sport in sketches than Toyota has in all its company.
