Should Audi Consider Reviving The Aluminum A2 As An All Electric?
Could the Audi A2 badge be revived?

Sources at Ingolstadt say that the electric package for the A1 could be reserved for a reborn A2; it is considering a lightweight aluminum spaceframe (ASF) city car made to measure for battery operation.

Think a Duracell A2, wrapped up in contemporary Audi styling.

IMO, not exactly innovative. If they are going to use an expensive platform they may as well be bold with the design:

-stretch it out for aerodynamics, mounting the batteries fore and aft. This should also give it a very high rotational inertia making it more stable in cross winds.
-I'd give more ideas but I've really got to drop a 2...

This is a 2005 model which was the last year produced. It however would make a quick entry into the market with a minor facelift.

They already have the A3, so making the A2 into an all electric is a smart move.

But of course, it needs to be more than just an all electric car...like what GreenPlease^ above me said.

Audi should consider making cars that aren't overpriced.

The A2 was hardly overpriced, seeing as it was all aluminium and it did everything what the modern hybrid does and on some fronts did even better while beeing cheaper then say a Prius is now.

The problem was though that when it was released back in 2000 there was hardly any green-hype, so nobody bought it.
