Sigh Of Relief? Chinese Assault On Detroit Stalls Before It Even Gets Off The Ground
Plans by Chinese automakers to enter the United States have largely fizzled.

Chery Automobile, through a deal to assemble cars for Chrysler, stands a chance of entering the United States by 2011.

And Brilliance Jinbei Automotive, a small Chinese automaker, says it plans to sell cars in the United States in 2009.

But other Chinese import plans are in disarray.

Enthusiasm for Chinese vehicles was created mainly by hype from American promoters and wishful thinking from small Chinese automakers who were unaware of the difficulties of selling cars in the United States.

They'll make it here eventually, taking advantage of free trade to undermine foreign enterprise is their specialty. What it takes is for the consumer to think beyond next week and to simply not buy 'Made in China'.

If we don't buy, it doesn't matter how cheap Chinese slave labour is. The problem is nationals who're willing to sell anything for their own benefit. I'd be surprised if China opened 1 factory in N.America (Mexico doesn't count).

If consumers didn't buy made in China products, I can assure you you're house would be empty for a starter. Ever been to China? Do you know that almost all famous companies at least have 1 factory in China? yeah that's right, " made in China ". If we remove all made in china products from the market, we will be living in the 50's :)
