Solstice coupe and new G5 and G6 planned for Pontiac
Pontiac is to become GM’s ‘affordable performance’ brand, dropping vehicles like the Torrent crossover in favor of sporty sedans and coupes like the G8 and the upcoming Solstice coupe. The new coupe is due next year as a 2009 model and will feature a higher performance version of the current inline-four, but a V6 unit has been ruled out. The new model based on the coupe-concept version will join the roadster, with the two soldiering on until a redesigned version arrives for the 2011 model year.

I fully agree.

When used on a concept they are terrible, but to see actual production cars with it (Infiniti FX, Caddy CTS) it's just sad.

This is the old concept, back in 04 I believe. The coupe will look more like the current solstice. And I agree, the orange isn't very flattering.

GM is rapidly becoming the king of style again but I sincerely hope they will also offer superior technology as well as comfort, durability and reliability. If they fall into the trap of relying on style alone again they will fall by the wayside and never recover the next time around. I am very concerned because my wife and I looked at the 2008 Saturn VUE yeasterday and were horrified that its seat cushions were far too short and the front passenger seat lacked proper adjustments. Also, the interior plastic was a bit on the cheap side and the engine compartment air vent on the side looked fake whether it actually was fake or real.
