Spied: 2010 Buick LaCrosse
In just its third model year since debuting for 2005, the Buick LaCrosse is still a relatively new vehicle. While a freshening was expected—and confirmed earlier this year—for 2009, we weren’t under the impression that Buick’s mid-size sedan was being totally redesigned so soon. However, in light of these leaked photos of a pre-production 2010 LaCrosse, it appears GM has put the car on fast-forward.

While grainy, these photos do give us the very first look at the car without camouflage and in near-production guise. Having first seen this vehicle in concept form earlier this year at the Beijing Auto Show as the Invicta Concept—and again last month via another set of leaked GM photos labeled, simply, “Buick Sedan”—the feeling at the time was that it may have been an all-new model for Buick.

The car is slicker than anything GM has released under the Olds/Buick nameplates in recent times. But, I am very cautious....GM will confirm that the car is real, but will say that the interior is for a global model, and not intended for the US market. GM will find a way to make the base & mid-level models so bland (and underpowered), that sales will tank in 6 months after its supposed release.

The Chinese and US Buicks are going to be the same models but built in different plants. As far as underpowered I really doubt that will happen. IF this car gets a 4 cylinder it will be the 170 hp/tq 2.4 Ecotec or the 260 hp/tq 2.0 DI Turbo Ecotec. The only V6 offered will probably be the 260 hp 3.6 HF V6 found in the Malibu or Aura. There may be a DI version of the 3.6 for the Lacrosse/Invicta but only time will tell.

Expect nothing but the best from the Epsilon II GM cars.

In some ways this vehicle does remind me of the Hyundai Elantra. However I do think the design is elegant. I truly do hope they implement the chrome grille into the production model.

Is it just me, or do the rear tail lamps mirror that of the Honda Accord?

This newest LaCrosse seems to be a bit smaller on its wheelbase. I thought this was supposed to be a vehicle to compete against the Chrysler 300 Series.

I don't like how this one looks. I'm not familiar with Buick's but the Lucerne or the LaCrosse isn't that bad. The new one doesn't look as nice in my opinion. They're by no means exciting in design but have catered to the people of elderly age ( at least where I live ).

Puke and laugh all you want, Lexus boy. Your standard of living depends on GM being successful.
