Spied: 2010 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
Cadillac is doing a controlled and sustained unveiling of fresh new products these days, including the new SRX crossover and CTS wagon, as well as giving us a chance to drive such diverse vehicles as the 2009 Escalade hybrid and the CTS-V sedan.

And obviously there is more to come, as pictures of the top-secret V-spec version of its upcoming CTS coupe were nabbed while testing.

Subtle clues give away the real identity of this car: black-painted CTS-V wheels; clearly visible cross-drilled brake discs with massive calipers; a squared-off front fascia for added brake ducting; and big, fat, round exhaust tips mounted in the center of the rear bumper in place of the squared-off tips on the base coupe.

Lexus has never made a car to have excellent performance and beat out the competition they have just made the IS-F and LF-A and The IS-F never had a chance to hold the top title... M3 and C63 take it out...and the LF-A is going to price itself out the market because that proclaimed pricetag they are going to put on it...way tooooo much competition in that bracket

and the car it has to be abled to compete against would have to be the M3

Lexus hasn't focused on sporting vehicles. Their last one was the SC400 which looks better than the current 430. They've never proved themselves with an IS coupe or mid-range coupe before to take on it's competition so to say the best vs best is a mere false claim by a fanboy who knows nothing.

damikco,

I love the new CTS/CTS Coupe sedan and now possibly the CTS-V Sedan and now this CTS-V coupe. But to says, "Cadillac has set themselves on the top level for sport lux", it little bit to much.

The Cadillac CTS-V ran the fastest time around track on the famous German track, but it has 580 hp. You go ahead and put 580 hp in the BMW M5, Audi RS6, IS-F and and see how it fair.

Cadillac has finally regaining customer loyalty back it will be awhile before it goes head to head with the German and Japan sport cars.

Are you actually saying bagging on the CTS-V because it has 580 hp? Instead of saying "well if X had 580 hp what could it do?" You need to be saying why hasn't X come out w/ a 580 hp.

In the real world it is run what you brung, not well if we change this and that just because 1 cars has something we don't.

Take off your blinders and see that Caddy has beat the others because it CHOSE to beat the others and they haven't had the opportunity to launch something back. To tell the truth if Lexus had wanted the IS-F to get the title then it would have CHOSEN to up the power on the IS-F's V8, instead it decided to go the safe route and launch the IS-F as a conservative choice in the super sports sedan market.

And don't forget that the first CTS-V outperformed every M, AMG, S, R or whatever brand you want when it came out, so don't play the "what if" game.

It has it, they don't, it wins, they lose (you can plug any car or brand into those pronouns, I am making the point of if BMW doesn't want to lose to the V, then start tuning). What is real is what matters. You can plop a crate engine into 500 different cars and outperform them all, but that is no what the manufacturer built.

CTS-V already went head to head with Germany (was Japan even there?). Cadillac won.
