Spied: 2010 Porsche Cayenne
Autocar spies have snapped these pictures of the next-generation Porsche Cayenne testing in Germany. There has been speculation that Porsche is building a smaller version of the Cayenne but these spyshots confirm that the vehicle in question is actually the next generation of the popular SUV.

In an effort to disguise the car’s bulk, Porsche has lowered the roofline and made it look sleeker. The smaller window apertures also point to a reduction is size, especially around the rear passenger window.

The Cayenne is a terrific SUV, but really hard to justify the price of the Twin-Turbo V8 when the BMW X5 will undoubtedly have the 4.4L TT V8 for 2009.

Fully equipped, the X5 is $25-30,000 less than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. I like status just as much as anyone, but not sure if it is really worth that much of a premium.

I agree Maverick2020. I had a older X5 4.4 and test drove the Cayenne. I personally feel that the X5 is a better ride. The available options are better, the drive, performance, handling all beat out the Cayenne in my opinion. Dont like their award winning braking system. It feels weird. Of course I only drove the Type S model and not the Turbo due to my restricted price range :-(. But I still belive, I would choose an X6 or FX in black over this even in a turbo. But the X6 has to be the 5.0.

Lower roof works well for me because of a low garage door height at my condo in the East; however, I wish they would put wider front seats in the Cayenne.

I'll keep my Cherokee SRT8! May not be as plush inside but its never in the shop and can smoke all those Germans (except the Cayenne Turbo and ML63 with ease). Not sure how it stacks up to the X6 X-Drive 5.0 yet but I'll find out soon enough.

No offense but you will really get to keep your srt-8 since its value is horribly diminished.
